Day on the ship

Hi everybody!

You know how a typical day looks like: you wake up, go to school, go back home, eat, do homework and sleep. Sometimes it can be a bit boring. When you’re on a ship everyday seems to  be the same, but it’s definitely not true.

Whole ship is waking up at the same time - half past 7- because of the ringing alarm all over the deck. At 8 o’clock there is a ceremonial assembly and raising up the flag. Then - breakfast and everybody do their duties. Someone is helping mechanic , another one do the cleaning. It is important to share responsibilities when you’re on a ship.

There are school lessons of course , but hardly ever “homework”. There are also days without school – just working on a ship.

Day on a sea isn’t strictly planned and you never know what to expect. In every moment there can be sail alarm. Sometimes when you’re sleeping , sometimes when you taking a shower.. Life one a ship is strongly connect to weather , but I like surprises
.

That’s all for today. Bye guys!

Copenhagen on the horizon

Before us there was new challenge – cruise from Świnoujście to Copenhagen. It was our first long way , because it took 3 days.

Everything we did was new and difficult . The most important thing was teamwork.  The ship had to move and it was all up to our teenage crew. Sometimes it was hard to keep discipline but everybody was doing their best and that’s why we make it, together.

During the cruise the biggest challenge was to learn the name of every rope on a ship. If somebody don’t make it, can’t go ashore.

On the way, for the first time,  we saw other ships and even wind farms.

When we arrived we went sightsee. A capitol of Denmark was fascinating. We saw symbols of Copenhagen: a royal castle and a statue of little mermaid. Even though it was amazing, I remembered starlight at open see the most…

See you soon!

Me Before You

Hi!

Today I'll show you one of my favourite films based on a book in the same name wrote by Jojo Moyes. I watched it many times and always it drives me to cry.

Louisa Clark 'Lou' (Emilia Clarke) have 26 years old and she live in a small town with her family. She have ambitions and dreams but she stuck in family town because her parents haven't got enough money to keep out. When caffe where Lou worked bankrupt she desperately looked at some work. She received offer to become a babysitter. Young and rich Will Traynor (Sam Claflin) as a result to a motor accident gets paralyzed up to the neck. He hasn't got any willingness to live and he becomes cynical. Lou tries to make him smile and bring him back to life.

In my opinion it is one of the best romantic film from 2016. I recommend this film because it is well-directed and whole plot is excellent.

Enjoy the movie and I warmly encourage you to reed this book, too.

Seasickness

There’s something I really need to tell you about.

Despite incredible views and all other beauties of the sea, sailing is not only fun. There is one thing that can ruin all your life on the ship – seasickness. Right from the start everybody was expecting it, but when it came we weren’t ready for that living death. We were hoping that maybe we won’t get sick but it hit everybody.

Imagine to yourselves the worst stomachache and headache you ever had , multiply it thousand times and add spinning in your head. That’s how you feel when you’re seasick

There’s nothing that you can’t go through. The most important thing was not giving up. I never knew that my friends’ support will be that helpful. Sometimes a glass of water could give an indescribable relief.

There was no actually cure for sickness, but the best healer was working. Nobody treated us concessionary and unexpectedly it help us to ‘survive’. We just had to wait that crisis out.

That’s all for today. Bye!

Catch and Relrase

Hello everyone!

Today I'll show you really gorgeous Netflix film in the name "Catch and Release" released in 2006.

Gray's Wheeler (Jennifer Garner) after her future husband death, makes friends with his friends: Sam, Dennis and Fritz. They are trying to help her in those bad days except Fritz. He was the best friend of the dead guy since childhood. Over time it turns out that her perfect husband wasn't so holy. After combine facts she find out why her husband's selfish ex best friend was so important to him.

Maybe now you think like 'why she told me about that film, it can't be romantic or funny at all' but it is, trust me. :)

Welcome in Świnoujście!

Our  destination was Świnoujście. I’ve been there a few times, but for the first time I was travelling by ship so effect was incredible.

The most amazing memory from that part of cruise is my first time at the helm of the ‘Fryderyk Chopin’. I had to learn really fast, because it was extremely big responsibility, but nothing can replace that indescribable feeling. I loved that wind in my hair. I knew that everything  was up to me and for those few moments I felt like I could move a mountain.

When we arrived to Świnoujście the evening came. All of the crew was tired so we watched a movie together in shipboard classroom and then everybody went to sleep, but not me. Before me there was a night watch between 2 and 3 p.m.

Even when I went to bed I couldn’t sleep, because tomorrow we were going to swam at the open sea. I was a bit stressed and stayed up all night. When the morning came I went with my friend to see the sunrise. I was ready for that day to come.
Baltic Sea , I’m coming!

Paragliding

Hello everyone

Paragliding originates from the so-called Gliding parachutes, but it can not be confused with parachuting, because in it the parachute is used to reduce the rate of decline in the atmosphere, and the para-glider is used for glide in the air. It is a recreational form of sport often confused with aviation.

Paragliding can be practiced by a man who has no experience with the help of an instructor. There are several forms of flying on a paraglider. The simplest is jamboree. As the name suggests, it consists of the order from the highest hill and further gliding on the paraglider.

This form is usually used in the initial phase of learning, and the flight depends on the quality of the equipment. Another most popular and the most interesting of all form is:

Sailing flights that depend on the speed and direction of the wind. The best wind for sailing is moderate wind because too weak wind makes it impossible to lose the fixed altitude and too strong threatens to tilt the para-glider to the outside.

Extreme winter sports #3 Snowmobile

Hello everyone

Snowmobile is a vehicle adapted to different surfaces covered with snow and it is a combination of sleighs and scooters.

The scooter is suitable for driving on roads, but also on off-roads. He drives very well on snow-covered surfaces. It is adapted for ice riding, but the person driving the scooter is forced to reduce speed.

The most important elements included in the scooter are, of course, the engine with a power not exceeding 1000 cm³, usually two gypsum, from which the drive is carried and two skids that help maintain the balance of the scooter. The first scooter was created by the French motoring pioneers Marquis Jules-Albert de Dion and engineer Georges Bouton.

Their concept was based on the construction of the Norwegian sleds. There are several types of snowmobiles. One of them is freestyle designed for extreme riding and performing tricks. Another type is a tourist intended for quiet driving in the terrain, and the third one is 8 cylinders intended for racing.

Extreme winter sports #2 Snow-kiting

Hello everyone

Snow-kiting is a winter kite-surfing discipline, this sport involves riding on a special parachute board. For kite-surfing we need favorable winds and snow or ice surfaces.

Snow-kiting is easier to learn than kite-surfing. Because of the hard surface before driving, buy a set of pads and a helmet, and check for durability before entering the ice.

For snowboarding we can use a board or skis, in the case of kite-surfing, we can choose only a board, however, the professionals of snowboarding more often choose a board. Another necessary piece of equipment is a kite divided into an open chamber and a closed chamber:

flying with open chambers - they are kites not adapted to the angle with water because then they lose their properties.

flying with closed chambers - they do not have their own shape. The structure of the kite is similar to the construction of wings, but in the case of this kite the air is kept in its center, and the lock is used to release it.

Extreme ground sports #1 Mountain-boarding

Hello everyone

For mountain-boarding we will need a special board adapted for driving around the terrain. The board consists of four medium-sized tires and straps that we can attach to your feet.

This sport is a summer type of snowboarding and a good option for beginner surfers. This board does not need the right weather conditions for driving, such as snow or water, it can ride on grasses, stones and other area that for a normal board can only be a dream.

The beginning of this sport is considered to be the seventies, when two skateboarders decided to attach larger wheels to their boards.

There is a special skateboard on which you can feel like real snowboarding. The board allows the user to ride sideways thanks to his special wheels. With the help of the balance of the body skateboarder is able to control the attitude of the board.
