Last post...

Hi everyone!

This post is very special because it’s last time when  I’m writing to you.  I had really great time here and I hope I didn’t bore you.  I’m glad that I could tell you about the adventure of my life.  Maybe for someone it doesn’t matter , but for me it was the most amazing thing that could happened.

Now it’s time for some facts and numbers.  So, summarizing :
    on the sea I spent : 886h
and in whole ports : 549h
sailing in storm ( wind -more than 8 in Beaufort scale) : 37h

Whole together , the cruise took 2 months. These are places visited by me :
   Świnoujście
   Copenhagen
   Goteborg
   Stavanger
   Ostend
   La Coruna
   Cascais
   Albufeira
   Santa Crus de Tenerifa
   San Sebastian de la Gomera
and finally Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

All goodbyes are hard, but it was much harder than I expected it to be. Friendships that I made on a ship, can be friendships for life. Whole this memories..whole the stories.. Everytime I’m thinking about it , it brings me a tear to the eye.

I’m only going to say , that I wish you to have an adventure of your life.
Last time - bye guys!

Last moments

Hello everyone !

I want to tell you that I will never forget my last moments on the open sea. Gran Canaria was our last port , what mean that adventure of my life is ending. But there was also good news – on this island we were going to spend five  days. I didn’t want to waste even a minute.

We got there by the sunset, so we’ve got an evening to walk around a little. I was ready for beach, palms and all attractions like this, but I never thought it’ll be that beautiful there.  Time was passing by really fast and I didn’t even notice that three days was already behind me.

We had to pack our bags and clean the ship. One last time we put all hands on deck.  It took whole day and even if everybody was really tired it didn’t stop us from having great time. It waxs our last evening together. At the beginning of the cruise we were completely strangers, but at the end – we were family.

That’s all. Bye!

Welcome in Świnoujście!

Our  destination was Świnoujście. I’ve been there a few times, but for the first time I was travelling by ship so effect was incredible.

The most amazing memory from that part of cruise is my first time at the helm of the ‘Fryderyk Chopin’. I had to learn really fast, because it was extremely big responsibility, but nothing can replace that indescribable feeling. I loved that wind in my hair. I knew that everything  was up to me and for those few moments I felt like I could move a mountain.

When we arrived to Świnoujście the evening came. All of the crew was tired so we watched a movie together in shipboard classroom and then everybody went to sleep, but not me. Before me there was a night watch between 2 and 3 p.m.

Even when I went to bed I couldn’t sleep, because tomorrow we were going to swam at the open sea. I was a bit stressed and stayed up all night. When the morning came I went with my friend to see the sunrise. I was ready for that day to come.
Baltic Sea , I’m coming!

Before it happened

Hi guys! I am writing this one, because I want to tell you a bit more before I start full steam ahead.

In my earlier post I told you I’m going to write about an adventure. So what exactly was that ? Maybe some of you thought that I flew to the moon or something like this, but…No.

I was a part of project called “Blue School”. It was 2 months cruise from Szczecin to the Canary Islands. It sounds like nothing special till you know that the ship crew was composed mostly of teenagers. There were only a few adults. After long and complicated recruitment I get in! From my point of view it was like winning the lottery.

I was really scared but excited. There was the most dangerous and the most amazing adventure of my life before me. Finally came the day of embarkation. I packed my bags and want to the place where ‘Fryderyk Chopin’ was waiting. It was the best day of my life!

That’s all for today. Till the next time!
