Hello everybody !
Today I'm gonna tell you a story of the G36 and the rifles, that were based on it.

History:
In the first half of the 70's the german army was using the G3 as their primary rifle. It was a good weapon , but it was also rather heavy.During that period , rifles with 5.56x45mm (G36) caliber were more popular than 7.62x51mm (G3). The project has started and meanwhile HK (Heckler & Koch) bankrupted. Then it was bought by the BAe Systems. In 1990 the project was reactivated and Ernst Mauch took leadership over it. He had a task to build a cheap carabine, as good as the other , much more expansive HK constructions. And then he made the G36. It's production cost was about 800$ ,and that was pretty good price for it. It was added to german army along with the G36K and the MG36. Now we have more rifles of these types:
G36E (It's the export version of G36 , with different sights)

G36K (It has a shorter barell)

G36C (Compact version , you saw it on the photo while i was introducing myself)

MG36 (LMG based on G36)
