India part 2


What are you able to see in the capital of India? 

Dehli is the second biggest city in India (first is Bombai), it's the centre of culture and industry, the city of universities, with a lot of theatres, galleries, museums, monuments.

 Main attractions are:

Mosque Kutb Manar- it's the first muslims' building in India. It belongs to a complex of mosques Kuwwat-al-Islam. It was build at the end of XII century. The builing height is 73 meters, diameter- 14 meters and at the top 2,5 meters. In 1993 minaret was inscribed on United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization.

India Gate – monument made by Edwin Lutyensa for Hindoo soldiers, who died in the First World War and in war with afganistan. The names of dead soldiers are written on wall's gate.

Janter Mantar – astronomical observatory. In the observatory there is the biggest solar clock and astrolabium in the world. This observatory is the best remained complex from all of the astronomical observatories in India. In 2010 it was inscribed on United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization.
