Designated Survivor (s01-s02) - review

Hi! In this post I'll present to you Designated Survivor, which is a political drama rather than criminal story, but it has some crime threads too. It talks about a man, who was designated to become a president in case of death of the president, vice president and other Congress of the USA members. After a catastrophic attack during the State of the Union, Thomas Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland) unexpectedly becomes the president of the USA. At the beginning it's difficult for him to settle in, but later, with a help of FBI agent Hannah Wells (Maggie Q) he opens the investigation to find makers of this horrible attack. The action evolves and after a few episodes we can see Tom as a tough man capable of making hard decisions. Designated Survivor has two seasons, but in one month the third season is published. This TV show has House of Cards  vibes, but honestly, I think it's better ;)

This series is one of my favourites and if you like political drama shows, you should definiately watch it! + The sountrack in it is great and effectively sends viewers into concentration mood.

'Orphan'

Hello everyone!

In this post I'll show you a good horror that I watched something like a year ago. I want to mention this film should scare you mentally not by jumpscares or guts and blood. I also prefer that way so I really enjoyed this movie. The title is ''Orphan'' and the director is Jaume Collet-Serra.

The movie is about marriage couple - John Coleman (Peter Sarsgaard) and Kate Coleman (Vera Farmiga) - that lost their baby recently. They already have two kids, but to deal with the loss, they decided to adopt a pretty, calm and talanted nine-years-old girl - Esther (Issabele Fuhrman). She need time to get used to new place. At the start everything seems to be alright. But with time parents will know that their new daughter isn't that pure like everyone thought. Will cute face and manipulation win? Or maybe this cursed soul will back to hell?

In my opinion this is one of the best movies which the main motive are orphans and demons. I think you won't be bored, but if you want to a lots of blood this isn't good horror for you. I recommend watching at night!

Bye for now, guys!

Penguin

The largest living species is the emperor penguin: on average, adults are about 3 ft 7 in ((1.1 m)) tall and weigh 77 lb ((35 kg)). The smallest penguin species is the little blue penguin, also known as the fairy penguin, which stands around 16 in ((40 cm)) tall and weighs 2.2 lb ((1 kg)). Among extant penguins, larger penguins inhabit colder regions, while smaller penguins are generally found in temperate climate. Some prehistoric species attained enormous sizes, becoming as tall or as heavy as an adult human. These were not restricted to Antarctic regions. The fastest species is the Gentoo Penguin, which can reach swimming speeds up to 22 mph. Unlike most birds—which lose and replace a few feathers at a time—penguins molt all at once, spending two or three weeks land-bound as they undergo what is called the catastrophic molt. All but two species of penguins breed in large colonies of up to one thousand birds. If a female Emperor Penguin's baby dies, she will often "kidnap" an unrelated chick.

'Jennifer's body'

Hi readers!

This time I'll tell you about movie which is a horror, but the plot is more like comedy to me. Although I still really like this one, because I watched it with my best friend and we had a lot of fun with this film! The title is ''Jennifer's body'' and the director is Karyn Kusama I hope you'll enjoy!

This horror is about two totally different friends - Jennifer (Megan Fox) and Needy (Amanda Seyfried). The first one is beautiful, confident, sexy and feisty when the second is quite, calm, smart and just... normal. Different characters, views, goals, but these girls still are best friends. One night, girls went at the party. Suddenly there was a fire. In totally rampage, Jennifer disappeard with band that played music in pub. Needy was looking for her, but after hours she came to home which in girl saw her friend in the middle of the night. She was all in blood, she had torn clothes. Jennifer show up on the next day like nothing happened and starts acting weird. Needy want to know what happened at that night when Jennifer wasn't with her. She'll find out a terrible truth.

For me this horror was fun. I had a great time and mood when I watched it, same as my friend. Some scenes were scary, but not like in normal horror. If you're bored you can watch it.

See you next time!

Raccoon

These nocturnal foragers use lightning-quick paws to grab crayfish, frogs, and other aquatic creatures. On land, they pluck mice and insects from their hiding places Raccoons also eat fruit and plants—including those grown in human gardens and farms. These ring-tailed animals are equally opportunistic when it comes to choosing a denning site. They may inhabit a tree hole, fallen log, or a house's attic. Females have one to seven cubs in early summer. The young raccoons often spend the first two months or so of their lives high in a tree hole. Later, mother and children move to the ground when the cubs begin to explore on their own. While most animals use either sight, sound, or smell to hunt, raccoons rely on their sense of touch to locate goodies. Their front paws are incredibly dexterous and contain roughly four times more sensory receptors than their back paws—about the same ratio of human hands to feet. This allows them to differentiate between objects without seeing them, which is crucial when feeding at night. Raccoons can heighten their sense of touch through something called dousing. To humans, this can look like the animals are washing their food, but what they're really doing is wetting their paws to stimulate the nerve endings. Like light to a human's eyes, water on a raccoon's hands gives it more sensory information to work with, allowing it to feel more than it would otherwise.

Komodo dragon

The Komodo dragon is the largest living lizard in the world. These wild dragons typically weigh about 154 pounds ((70 kilograms)), but the largest verified specimen reached a length of 10.3 feet ((3.13 meters)) and weighed 366 pounds ((166 kilograms)). Males tend to grow larger and bulkier than females. The Komodo's bite may be deadly, but not to another Komodo dragon. Those wounded while sparring with each other appear to be unaffected by the bacteria and venom. Scientists are searching for antibodies in Komodo dragon blood that may be responsible. Komodo dragons are efficient eaters, leaving behind only about 12 percent of their prey. As the dominant predators on the handful of islands they inhabit, they will eat almost anything, including carrion, deer, pigs, smaller dragons, and even large water buffalo and humans. When hunting, Komodo dragons rely on camouflage and patience, lying in wait for passing prey. When a victim ambles by, the dragon springs, using its powerful legs, sharp claws and serrated, shark-like teeth to eviscerate its prey. The dragon has venom glands, which are loaded with toxins that lower blood pressure, cause massive bleeding, prevent clotting, and induce shock. They bite down with serrated teeth and pull back with powerful neck muscles. The result: huge gaping wounds. The venom then quickens the loss of blood and sends the prey into shock. Animals that escape the jaws of a Komodo will only feel lucky briefly. Dragons can calmly follow an escapee for miles as the venom takes effect, using their keen sense of smell to hone in on the corpse. A dragon can eat a whopping 80 percent of its body weight in a single feeding. Komodo dragons live about 30 years in the wild.

Lovebird

Social and affectionate, the name comes from the parrots' strong, monogamous ((form of relationship in which an idndividual has only one partner during their lifetime)) pair bonding and long periods which paired birds spend sitting together. Lovebirds live in small flocks and eat fruit, vegetables, grasses and seeds. They are 5 to 7 inches ((13 to 17 cm)) in lenght, up to 9 inches ((24 cm)) in wingspan with 4 inches ((9 cm)) for a single wing and 1.5 to 2 oz ((40 to 60 g)) in weight. They are among the smallest parrots, characterized by a stocky build, a short blunt tail, and a relatively large, sharp beak. Wildtype lovebirds are mostly green with a variety of colours on their upper body, depending on the species. Most lovebird species are native to the continent of Africa; the exception is the Madagascar ((grey-headed)) lovebird, which is native to the island of Madagascar. If a mate dies or gets separated from the flock, its companion exhibits erratic behavior that some have likened to depression. Birds kept as pets often don't like being alone and will exhibit similar behavior in captivity. Although they are a type of parrot, and they do have the ability to mimic human speech, Lovebirds are not among those species that most would consider talking birds. This is because they very rarely decide to speak, and if they do choose to mimic a sound, more often than not they repeat simple noises such as whistles or household sounds such as doorbells and microwaves. It is not known why some Lovebirds are more prone to mimicking speech than others, but it is widely believed that those who do learn to talk are taught from a very young age.

'Get Out"

Hi guys!

In today's post I want to tell you about another Jordan Peele's horror which title is ''Get Out'' (I mentioned it in last post!). Honestly, I don't remember when and where I watched this film, but my first impression of it was really positive. I think it is really good movie and much, much better than other Mr. Peele's horror.

The plot tells about a typical, normal couple. Chris Washington (Daniel Kaluuya) is Rose Armitage's (Allison Williams) lovely boyfriend. There comes a time to introduce Chris to Rose's parents and he agreed, despite his concerns. He's scared they won't accept him, because he has black color of skin. At the start he thought he was right, but after that Armitages' behavior was changed. He found out a lot of black people went missing nearby. The truth which he'll discover is more terrifying than he thought.

I like climate in this movie. Actors made a good work. The main secret seems to be easy and banal, but belive me - it isn't. If you want to watch it don't waste your time and go. You'll be satisfied and I hope you'll enjoy like I was!

Bye for now!

Demigods (pt.2)

Here's the next part of the previous post about demigods. I hope you'll enjoy it.

Psyche is a former mortal woman and goddess of the soul in Greek mythology. She is the wife of Eros (Cupid) and the mother of Hedone. She is always pictured with butterfly wings.

Theseus was widely considered the greatest Athenian hero, the king who managed to politically unify Attica under the aegis of Athens. Son of either Aegeus, or Poseidon, and Aethra, a princess, Theseus was raised by his mother in the palaces of Troezen.

Jason was hero, famous as the leader of the Argonauts and their quest for the Golden Fleece. He was the son of Aeson and Polymede , and was once married to the sorceress Medea.

Odysseus is the great-grandson of Hermes. He is the son of Laertes, the king of Ithaca, and Anticlea and the husband of Penelope and father of a child named Telemachus. Known for his leadership skills, wit, and intelligence, Odysseus is most famous for his ten-year journey.

There's a loot more of them , but their the most popular.

Narcos (s01-s02) - review

Hi! In this post I want to present to you Narcos, but only two seasons of it, because those seasons are about Pablo Escobar and the third is a different story. The series shows us Escobar's life and activity, but also the cooperation of American DEA and Columbian government, established to catch the drug baron. Narcos is based on real events and producers even show the real pictures of relevant incidents. The narrator is Steve Murphy (Boyd Holbrook) and he's a DEA agent, during the series we can get to know him a little bit. First episodes show us how Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura) created his drug cartel. Then the action expands more and we can see how Pablo manipulated the Columbian government and his first political performances.

Those two seasons are amazing, really addictive and interesting, in fact, this series inspired me to become a criminal stories freak! So, if you are keen on this kind of entertainment - Narcos is definiately a great choice for you!

'US'

Hi sunshines!

Today I'll tell you about movie I watched with my friends three weeks ago. We were really excited and we couldn't wait for it! Unfortunately, me and my friends got out from cinema really, really disappointed and sad. I felt like I lose two hours of my life! I was not only sad, but furious too.  On the next day I was really moody and still felt that disappointment. The title of that amazing horror is ''US'' and the director is Jordan Peele.

Honestly, this film looked to be really awesome, scary and original just like another great horror directed by Mr. Peele which title is ''Get Out''. ''US'' wasn't that good. For me and one of my friends this was totally fail and don't even a horror. And I'm agree with this for one hundred percent.

The plot shows us a four-member family: Gabe Wilson (Winston Duke), his beauty wife Adelaide (Lupita Nyong'o) and two kids - Zora (Shahadi Wright Joseph) and Jason (Evan Alex). They decided to take a break and go on vacations. Gabe didn't know the place that he chose will give Adelaide some of terrifying memories. One day, she'll start sees a lot of coincidence. Suddenly, at night, on their driveway uninvited guests will show up. After that, on the light come up that, they look exactly like Adelaide's family.

First of all - the trailer. All of scary scenes were show in trailer. Anything in this movie were scary for me, I was bored. Secondly - Mr. Wilson, the head of the family. He was sooo annoying. When scene in movie was serious, he made stupid, not funny jokes and all of atmosphere was destroyed. I didn't  felt that ''horror'' mood. And the last thing - the main bad characters. In my opinion, the director wasted good potential. These creatures weren't suppose to speak, they shouldn't be so... human? I think it's what I'm trying to say. I don't recommend this film for anyone. Don't waste your time.

See you soon!

Quicksand - review

Hello! In this post I'll tell you about a new Netflix's mini series - Quicksand. It's a Swedish production, which puts the topic of school shootings and many other teenagers' problems  forward. The firs scene begins when the main character is in a terrible shock after the shooting, in which she took part, then she's arrested for a participation in this crime, but as a viewers we don't know the exact course and reasons of this tragedy. By the time we discover more and more circumstances leading to the crime. Quicksand has six episodes, so it's easy to watch in one evening.

Maja Norberg (Hanna Ardehn) is the main character in this story. Because of her boyfriend, she starts going to parties and taking drugs. Maja really loves Sebastian (Felix Sandman) and when she discovers the truth about his home situation, she wants to help him, but by the time Sebastian becomes unpredictable. In my opinion Maja often acts stupid and it isn't my favourite kind of character in TV shows.

For me, this series is quite interesting and imaginative, but some of my friends didn't like it much. It isn't really a masterpiece, but certainly worth watching if you are a fan of crime stories and if you want to know how a lawsuit looks like.

I hope you liked this post, bye for now!

Demigods

Demigod is a minor deity or a mortal or immortal who is the offspring of a god and a human, or a figure who has attained divine status after death. You might know some of them like Hercules and Achilles from stories and films. Here's the first part of the list of greek's  demigods.

Achilles is son of the Peleus, king of the Myrmidons, and the nymph,Thetis. Achilles was the bravest, handsomest, and greatest warrior of the army of Agamemnon in the Trojan War.

Hercules is son of Zeus and morrtal Alcleme, realted with Perseus. He was the greatest of the Greek heroes, and a champion of the Olympian order against chthonic monsters. He is famous for his strength.

Perseus is the slayer of the Gorgon Medusa and the rescuer of Andromeda from a sea monster. Perseus was the son of Zeus and Danaë.

Orpheus is legendary hero endowed with superhuman musical skills. He became the patron of a religious movement based on sacred writings said to be his own. Orpheus was the son of a muse Calliope, and Oeagrus.

In this post ist's all. If you're intrested go see the next one. Bye!

Avengers Endgame

Hi everyone!

I went to the cinema with my boyfriend and his friend Hubert for Avenger's Endgame. I really disliked this idea because I don't like any movies from Marvel, but somehow they convinced me to go.

The show was supposed to start at 21:45, so we had time to buy popcorn and drinks, then we went inside and we sat down waiting for the show to begin, Hubert and Kuba were really hyped up about the move, but I really did not know about what.

Movie began a little bit on the sad side because Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man/Tony Stark) was in space and he was ready to die, becasue he was running out of oxygen, but Capitan Marvel saved him. Avengers added Capitan Marvel to the team and they tried to fix everything that Thanos did to earth. In the movie there was a lot of  sad moments, because Black Window died to get the Soul Stone.

Guys went out the cinema and they were kinda sad and I did not understand why, because I really enjoyed the movie. They told me why they were sad, because it might be the end of the Avengers series, because Robert Downey Jr. died and Capitan America got old which was suprising. I really liked this movie so I might have to re-watch everything during the May holidays.

Bye:)

Prison Break - review

Hi! In today's post I'm going to tell you something about my recent discovery, which won my heart almost immediately. Prison Break is an amazing story about a man, who put himself in the Fox River State Penitentiary to rescue his brother from the execution. He's planning to escape, but at the time he's coming up against many problems. This series has five (quite long) seasons, but there are some rumours about the sixth season. Prison Break has fans all over the world and it's one of the most recognisable TV shows.

The main character is Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) and he's the man, who sacrificed himself to help his brother get out of the prison. He tattooed the whole plan of the escape on his own body. Michael is extremely bright and steady person, many people would say that he's a genius. He really cares about his loved ones, he's doing everything to make them safe.

I personally love this series, it's very addictive and has many life lessons. I've recommended Prison Break to several friends and every one of them loved it! Producers and actors have done a really great job of making this series.

Teeth whitening strips

There are many ways to whitening your teeth. One of them is whitening strips which are really fast and effective. You can buy a box of this strips but you must read instruction. Because every company has it's own properly using of that product. On instruction you can read how often you can use strips, how you should do it and how long 'treatment' will takes. Usually whitening takes one or two weeks, while that you should use strips every day. Warning, you shouldn't use that strips too often because it destroy tooth enamel. Of course a little but still, so be careful.

beauty hacks

Hi, these days you can make your life easier in many ways. For exaple in cooking, in working e.t.c. But also in make-up and self care. So today I prepared a few hacks which can help you with make-up.

1. First hack is to plump lips. It's really easy, all you need to do is to outline your mouth properly. At the beginning outline shape of your lips with lip liner. Then draw a few lines on the middle of your lips to make your mouth plumper and optically bigger. Finally color your lips with lipstick.

2. Second hack to lips. You can use it to do not mess you teeth with lipstick. It hapened really often so here I'm to help you. Just before you're going to color your mouth put a cotton swab between your lips and paint it!

3. Another hack it is how properly conture a face. On the picture you can see everything you need.

4. This is the last one and the most interesting hack. Did you know that you can use baby powder as a normal powder (to make-up)? It has a few assets: it's cheaper, it has bigger capacity and the most meaningful thing is that it's healthier- it has better composition and usually it's hypoallergenic.

That's all for today.
Bye for now!

My brother a Sailor

Hey guys!

I got a brother he is 21 years old and he goes to Maritime University of Szczecin. Mateusz's school is a little bit diffrent. One year of school takes approximately 10 weeks, he finishes his school year 5 times faster than us. The school has to be like that. It has to end fast, in 10 weeks, because after 10 weeks the students got 3 months on leave.

Well the job seems like it's nice, but it actually is very hard. Mateusz a week before the end of school saw a great opportunity to set sail. He went to his teachers, and he adked if I can bring them homework. Homework will get to me by mail. Teachers agreed to everything.

My brother was supposed to fly aut to Malaga on March 8th, there he would have been waiting for his ship. Mateusz found out that he'll be setting sail on March 11th, because where the ship was a dock before there was too much ice, and they wouldn't have gotten there on time.

Right now my brother is in Algerie and he's got grain to ship. In the next week he'll be going to Casablanca to get sand, and in about a month he will be in Police, there I'll be able to see him and see the ship he's on.

I can't wait until I get to see him. This a rare occasion that I will be able to explore the ship. I really do miss my brother. His cruise is supposed to take up around 6 to 8 months.

Also called 'Hel'. The underworld where many of the dead dwell. It’s presided over by a fearsome goddess whose name is also Hel

Norse Worlds (pt.1)

In the Norse mythology exist nine worlds and today I'll present you them. Every single one is different and made for different creatures.

First one: Asgard
The home and fortress of the Aesir, one of the two tribes of gods. Asgard is located in the sky and is connected to Midgard, by the rainbow bridge Bifrost.

Midgard
'Home of Humanity'. It’s the inhabited world and roughly corresponds to civilization. It’s the only world that’s primarily located in the visible world.

Niflheim
The homeland of primordial darkness, cold, mist, and ice.

Svartalfeim
The home of the dwarves. The dwarves are master smiths and craftsmen who live beneath the ground. So Svartalfheim was thought of as a labyrinthine, subterranean complex of mines and forges.

If you like that post, go to the second part, where you can find out about the rest five worlds.

Friend from Canada

Hi!

Couple days ago I met my boyfriends friend. Hubert has been in Canada for seven years, he came back to Poland just now.

Well what I got to know from Hubert, Canada's climate is very diffrent from Poland. Hubert has told me that the highest temperature in the summer he  has experienced is +32 celsius, so I told him in Poland that's a standard, so he told me about the temperatures in winter, and I could not belive it. Sometimes it can get -57 celsius, and I just told him that I wouldn't be able to survive over there.

Some places he has went to are pretty interesting. Such as Vancouver, he showed me couple of pictures ond it's just beautiful there. Lots of mountains around you which makes the view from your hotel or your house even better, and if you lived close to the ocean you'd just fall in love with the whole view.

Hubert also told me that Canada must be one of the most friendliest countries in the world, because he has never met a rude Canadian.

There's another thing he really liked about Canada is that they really like to learn about other cultures, different lifestyles, religion, ethnicity and much more.

Hubert brought back Maple Syrup. Together we all mode some American pancakes. In the next post I could share the reciple with you all. ;)

Bye for now ;)
