Quicksand - review

Hello! In this post I'll tell you about a new Netflix's mini series - Quicksand. It's a Swedish production, which puts the topic of school shootings and many other teenagers' problems  forward. The firs scene begins when the main character is in a terrible shock after the shooting, in which she took part, then she's arrested for a participation in this crime, but as a viewers we don't know the exact course and reasons of this tragedy. By the time we discover more and more circumstances leading to the crime. Quicksand has six episodes, so it's easy to watch in one evening.

Maja Norberg (Hanna Ardehn) is the main character in this story. Because of her boyfriend, she starts going to parties and taking drugs. Maja really loves Sebastian (Felix Sandman) and when she discovers the truth about his home situation, she wants to help him, but by the time Sebastian becomes unpredictable. In my opinion Maja often acts stupid and it isn't my favourite kind of character in TV shows.

For me, this series is quite interesting and imaginative, but some of my friends didn't like it much. It isn't really a masterpiece, but certainly worth watching if you are a fan of crime stories and if you want to know how a lawsuit looks like.

I hope you liked this post, bye for now!

Bodyguard (s01) - review

Hi! In today's post I want to tell you about series which I recently saw and I think it's really worth watching. Bodyguard is a British series about a man who's hired in Secret Service to protect controversial politician - Julia Montague. Her new counterterrorism bill and political ambitions make her a target. It has one season, but the second is officially announced.

David Budd (Richard Madden) is the main character in this story. He has quite specific charm in both his character and appearance. He's a tough guy when he has to protect Julia and face his family problems, but deep down he's sensitive and caring, like for his kids and wife, with whom he's separated. He's struggling with the traumatic stress after being in the army, but because of that he's more alert and smart when it comes to life-threatening situations in his job. In some of the moments in the show, he seems to be depressed and for me - it's important thread.

If you like stories about conspiracy, politics and terrorism danger in influential countries, with some love plots-Bodyguard is definitely series for you. I was really moved while watching it and I recommend it for every crime fiction fan.

I hope you enjoyed this post, bye!

Orange Is the New Black(s01-s06) - review

Hello! Today I'm coming to you with something different than before. Orange is the new black isn't a really serious, strictly criminal series, but the past of the heroines applies to it. This is the original Netflix production and has been broadcast since 2013. It's based on Piper Kerman books and talks a story about Piper Chapman (funny convergence of names haha) who was sent to a female prison in Litchfield for 15 months for a crime commited years ago. I warn you, it has many theards of LGBT (and when I say 'many' I mean 'really a lot') and I know that it doesn't suit everyone.

This series has many important characters, but it would be difficult for me to describe them all, so I choose three of them, which are rather the most recognizable. As first I'm going to introduce to you Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) and Alex Vause (Laura Prepon), they are together in the series, but they are different from each other. To be honest, Piper isn't a very bright person, she often takes misguided deeds, for which she later regrets. She's rather annoying character and many viewers can support this opinion. On the other hand, Alex is calm and intelligent person, she usually makes sensible decisions (except for being in prison). She avoids conflicts, tries to explain things diplomatically. However, they are in love and have popularity in Litchfield by that!

Third relevant character is Galina 'Red' Reznikov (Kate Mulgrew). She's the chef in prison and she's from Russia. In my opinion the actress who was playing Red did the great job, because this person is full of simplicity and honest feelings, she stole my heart from the beginning of the series. Some of girls in Litchfield call her 'mom'. She's also bitter if needed.

The most in this production I like the fact that there are real people in it, who are forced to live among themselves, so there is no place to pretend to be who they aren't. This series makes us aware of the features that emerge and shape in a human when it's in a place like prison.

I hope you liked this post, bye!

Lucifer(s01-03)-review

Hi everyone!

In my first review I'm going to present you Lucifer, which is one of my favorite series. It's about the Devil who got bored in hell under the eye of God, so he decided to get to the ground. He landed in Los Angeles - a city where every devil would feel like at home. He meets a detective there and helps her solve a murder case. Over time, thanks to his devil powers, he helps her more and more often and later becomes her partner. This is a criminal series, with a fantasy and comedy plot. For now, it has three seasons.

So, let's start with the main character (Lucifer Morningstar) played by Tom Ellis. In my opinion it's really well-played character with incredible charisma, eloquence and charm. It's imbossible to not love him!

The next important person is Chloe Decker played by Lauren German. She's divorced detective with a little daughter. Sometimes her character is irritating, but many people think that she's adorable. Personally, I didn't like her much.

These were the two main characters, so now, my opinion about this series. I think it's very professionally filmed, I like the soundtrack and the idea. The characters are interesting because each of them has its amazing story and specific features. For me, it's worth to watch it. If you're fond of crime mysteries, you'll love it!

Bye for now, see you in the next post!
