Designated Survivor (s03) - review

Hi! In this post I want to tell you about brand new Designated Survivor season 3, which came out few days ago and it's made by Netflix this time. I just finished it and I'm still a little bit emotional, but I have to admit, that I also feel shortage. I think, producers should do something 'wow' at the end, but maybe some people think otherwise. I like seeing the President so strong and determined, after all. There are some new characters and a new threat to USA, which Kirkman is trying to solve.

I really enjoyed this season, but it could be better, to be honest. It's still one of my favourite series and I can't wait for the next part! You can read my another post about Designated Survivor on this blog and if you like TV shows like this one, I think you should watch it.

Bye!

Lucifer (s04) - review

Hi! In today's post I'm going to tell you something about Lucifer season 4. As you know, I've already reviewed previous seasons, but this one came out this May and this time it was made by Netflix (In fact, Netflix literally saved this show, so please, if you are going to watch it, use legal resources!). To be honest, I was quite in shock when I realized that this part of Lucifer is actually the best one, but it has only 10 episodes and this made me disappointed.

In this season we are meeting actual Eve. Yes, Eve from Eden. She becames one of the most relevant characters in the series, but at first she's turning Lucifer's life over and many people hate her for that. Eve is definitely crazy and reckless, but also very positive. Among the Lucifer's fans, her character has a lot of admirers and opponents as well. In my opinion she's a nice, interesting change in the show.

If you watched other seasons of Lucifer, you'll be delighted while watching this one, but if you haven't done that yet, I highly recommend it for every fantasy and crime fan.

Bye!

When They See Us - review

Hello! In this post I'm coming to you with a real masterpiece, which is When They See Us. It's a miniseries made by Netflix, based on the actual events, that have taken place since April 1988 in New York. It's a horrible story about the so-called 'Central Park Five', which are boys convicted to prison for a crime they never commited. During the episodes we can discover how these boys were feeling back then. The series was made with the help of the original victims, so actors did a great job playing them. While watching When They See Us people can feel many emotions like a true sadness or more likely anger, I cried all along the fourth episode, for example. I think, that every person should watch this series and get to know this particular story.

There you can see comparative photos of the members 'Central Park Five' and actors, who are playing them:

Korey Wise (Jharrel Jerome)

Yusef Salaam (Ethan Herisse, Chris Chalk)

Antron McCray (Caleel Harris, Jovan Adepo)

Raymond Santana (Marquis Rodriguez, Freddy Miyares)

Kevin Richardson (Asante Blackk, Justin Cunningham)

Undercover - review

Hi! In this post I want to introduce to you Undercover, which is a Belgian series made by Netflix. It tells us a story based on facts about a pair of undercover agents who have to get to a powerful drug baron's life, so they pretend to be a couple and become his neighbour.

The first man on the photo is Ferry Bouman (Frank Lammers) and he's one of the biggest ecstasy manufacturer in Europe. This character is played very well, because he has personality, but he's also tough and impulsive. It's hard to get his credit, as he's suspicious and wary.

In my opinion Undercover isn't a masterpiece and in some of the moments it's quite boring, but producers had good intent and tried to make it more interesting. If you like series about drug cartels etc. you can watch it and share your opinion.

Bye for now!

The Society (s01) - review

Hi! Today I want to tell you about a new Netflix's production The Society. This series was one of my biggest expectations in this year and it hasn't disappointed me at all, in fact, in my opinion it's the best TV show directed to teenagers I've ever seen! This series tells us a story about a group of teenagers, who found themselves in their town - West Ham, but it was empty. I mean, there wasn't anyone besides them and roads leading outside the town were gone too. They have to create a normal society to live among themselves, but it's hard to them, considering the fact, that they're teenagers. It has ten episodes so far, but the second season has been announced.

There are so many important and relevant characters in The Society that I can't describe them all. Every person there matters, since they have to build a new West Ham. My favourite character is Grizz (Jack Mulhern), because he's really smart, charming and calm (let's be honest, everyone loves Grizz). I also like Campbell (Toby Wallace), he's mysterious and a little bit creepy, but he's got something interesting inside of him.

One of the best features of The Society is that it has many threads, so everyone can identify with someone in the series. It also shows us how hard could it be if bunch of teens were trapped in a place with no exit and they would have to create their government etc. But you don't have to be a teenager to like this TV show! If you are a fan of mystery cases, you should definitely see it.

I hope you enjoyed this post, bye!

Designated Survivor (s01-s02) - review

Hi! In this post I'll present to you Designated Survivor, which is a political drama rather than criminal story, but it has some crime threads too. It talks about a man, who was designated to become a president in case of death of the president, vice president and other Congress of the USA members. After a catastrophic attack during the State of the Union, Thomas Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland) unexpectedly becomes the president of the USA. At the beginning it's difficult for him to settle in, but later, with a help of FBI agent Hannah Wells (Maggie Q) he opens the investigation to find makers of this horrible attack. The action evolves and after a few episodes we can see Tom as a tough man capable of making hard decisions. Designated Survivor has two seasons, but in one month the third season is published. This TV show has House of Cards  vibes, but honestly, I think it's better ;)

This series is one of my favourites and if you like political drama shows, you should definiately watch it! + The sountrack in it is great and effectively sends viewers into concentration mood.

Narcos (s01-s02) - review

Hi! In this post I want to present to you Narcos, but only two seasons of it, because those seasons are about Pablo Escobar and the third is a different story. The series shows us Escobar's life and activity, but also the cooperation of American DEA and Columbian government, established to catch the drug baron. Narcos is based on real events and producers even show the real pictures of relevant incidents. The narrator is Steve Murphy (Boyd Holbrook) and he's a DEA agent, during the series we can get to know him a little bit. First episodes show us how Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura) created his drug cartel. Then the action expands more and we can see how Pablo manipulated the Columbian government and his first political performances.

Those two seasons are amazing, really addictive and interesting, in fact, this series inspired me to become a criminal stories freak! So, if you are keen on this kind of entertainment - Narcos is definiately a great choice for you!

Quicksand - review

Hello! In this post I'll tell you about a new Netflix's mini series - Quicksand. It's a Swedish production, which puts the topic of school shootings and many other teenagers' problems  forward. The firs scene begins when the main character is in a terrible shock after the shooting, in which she took part, then she's arrested for a participation in this crime, but as a viewers we don't know the exact course and reasons of this tragedy. By the time we discover more and more circumstances leading to the crime. Quicksand has six episodes, so it's easy to watch in one evening.

Maja Norberg (Hanna Ardehn) is the main character in this story. Because of her boyfriend, she starts going to parties and taking drugs. Maja really loves Sebastian (Felix Sandman) and when she discovers the truth about his home situation, she wants to help him, but by the time Sebastian becomes unpredictable. In my opinion Maja often acts stupid and it isn't my favourite kind of character in TV shows.

For me, this series is quite interesting and imaginative, but some of my friends didn't like it much. It isn't really a masterpiece, but certainly worth watching if you are a fan of crime stories and if you want to know how a lawsuit looks like.

I hope you liked this post, bye for now!

Prison Break - review

Hi! In today's post I'm going to tell you something about my recent discovery, which won my heart almost immediately. Prison Break is an amazing story about a man, who put himself in the Fox River State Penitentiary to rescue his brother from the execution. He's planning to escape, but at the time he's coming up against many problems. This series has five (quite long) seasons, but there are some rumours about the sixth season. Prison Break has fans all over the world and it's one of the most recognisable TV shows.

The main character is Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) and he's the man, who sacrificed himself to help his brother get out of the prison. He tattooed the whole plan of the escape on his own body. Michael is extremely bright and steady person, many people would say that he's a genius. He really cares about his loved ones, he's doing everything to make them safe.

I personally love this series, it's very addictive and has many life lessons. I've recommended Prison Break to several friends and every one of them loved it! Producers and actors have done a really great job of making this series.

Bye!

Money Heist (s01) - review

Hi! In this post I want to present to you Money Heist. It's a Spanish Netflix Originals series about extraordinarily scheduled 'robbery' on a state mint. I used speech marks, because the robbers get in the mint and made money themselves, they didn't really stole them. This series has one season for now.

Every single character in this story is relevant and producers showed us their past. My favourite character is Profesor (Alvaro Morte), I think he's the most interesting person there.

Whole series is really worth watching If you like dynamic action and ths type of vibes. Bye for now!

Dark (s01) - review

Hello! In this post I'm going to tell you something about a German Netflix Originals series - Dark. It's not a crime, but it has a gripping, interesting mystery and I think it's worth watching. This science-fiction story is about time travelling. It has one season, but viewers are waiting for the second.

Children start to disappear in a small town in Germany and one of the characters is going to solve this strange mystery. He discovers many unusual things in the woods near the town and decides to check it out.

Jonas Kahnwald (Louis Hofmann) is the main character in this story. He discovers clues relevant to the disappearing children case. He enters in the mysterious cave consciously and he finds things, which blow his mind, reasons why his father commited a suicide, for instance.

If you like science-fiction vibes, you'll love this series! Personally, I couldn't get over Dark for weeks. The soundtrack and beautiful shots gives this production unusual character.

I hope you liked this post, bye!

Breaking Bad - review

Hi! Today I'm going to present to you one of the most recognisable TV show, which is Breaking Bad. It's a beautiful story about love, family and frienship commitment, but also about drugs and feloniousness. It has five seasons and it''s completed. This series has many fans all over the world and I'm one of them!

The main character is Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and he's a chemist teacher, but one day he dicsovers that he has a cancer and the treatment costs tons of money. So he decided to earn this money in a very unconventional way. This character is an example of a faithful person to his family and despite of the fact that he produces drugs, he tries to protect them all the time. At first he's just a simple man from the suburbs, but by the time he becomes more and more tough and ruthless.

Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) is my favourite character in this story. At the beginning his role isn't really interesting, but later viewers discover his sensitive, helpful and loyal nature. He always says what he thinks, regardless of the consequences.  Aaron's acting makes people attached to this character.

The whole series is a masterpiece to me, it's gripping and many scenes are very unpredictable. If you are a fan of criminal stories and if you like drug cartel-Mexican vibes, you definetely should watch it!

Bodyguard (s01) - review

Hi! In today's post I want to tell you about series which I recently saw and I think it's really worth watching. Bodyguard is a British series about a man who's hired in Secret Service to protect controversial politician - Julia Montague. Her new counterterrorism bill and political ambitions make her a target. It has one season, but the second is officially announced.

David Budd (Richard Madden) is the main character in this story. He has quite specific charm in both his character and appearance. He's a tough guy when he has to protect Julia and face his family problems, but deep down he's sensitive and caring, like for his kids and wife, with whom he's separated. He's struggling with the traumatic stress after being in the army, but because of that he's more alert and smart when it comes to life-threatening situations in his job. In some of the moments in the show, he seems to be depressed and for me - it's important thread.

If you like stories about conspiracy, politics and terrorism danger in influential countries, with some love plots-Bodyguard is definitely series for you. I was really moved while watching it and I recommend it for every crime fiction fan.

I hope you enjoyed this post, bye!

Slasher (s02) - review

Hi, in this post I want to present to you Slasher, but just the second season, because I haven't watched the first one yet. It's an anthology, so seasons aren't connected with each other. This show tells a story about a some grop of former friends' horrific secret, but after a few years the secret came out. They have to return to their resort (where they spend one summer as attendants on a camp) and people in the group start dying one by one.

Honestly, characters in this story were pathetic most of the time. I feel that producers focused more on bloody scenes than on the acting. I'm disappointed about it, because whole idea for this series is quite good, but some of scenes are so meaningless and stupid that I just couldn't stand it. One thing which I can own to this show is that, there are really well made bloody scenes, but I have to warn you, they are cruel. If you are a fan of brutal horror-criminal productions, you can try to watch it. I hope you liked this post, bye for now!

Peaky Blinders (s01-s04) - review

Hi everyone! In today's post I want to tell you something about one of my favourite series, which is Peaky Blinders. This show is based on affairs of an actual British gang, which was functioning in the 1920s in Birmingham. The director was inspirated by his parents, because they remembered times when Peaky Blinders' gang was popular in Britain. It has four seasons so far, the fifth has been announced, but nobody knows when it'll come.

Thomas Shelby (Cillian Murphy) is the most important preson to this story, he's a boss of the gang and most of the plot involves him. At the beginning you can think that he's a ruthless man, but later it came out that he's quite sensitive and reasonable. He's definitely my favourite character in this series, his emotions seems so real that you can fall in love with him (not for real of course)!

Another really relevant character to this story is Polly Gray (Hellen McCrory) and she's Shelby's aunt. She's one of the most stubborn and resonable people in the series, but by the time, her mental health is closes in. However, she's a strong women character most of the time. She often counsels Tommy in many cases.

Whole series is great and I enjoyed it very much. I love the characters, costumes and especially music, because it's a fantastic modern-sounds and old times atmosphere combination. It's truly worth to watch. I hope you liked this post, bye!

Riverdale (s01) - review

Hello! Today I want to present to you Riverdale, but I'm going to describe only the first season, because I think that other parts aren't worth to watch and they lost their potential. This season is about the murder case of a teenager, which his friends and sister want to solve. By the time, the story takes more threads and engages a viewer very much. I reckon this series is rather for teenagers, but everyone has their own taste!

(In order) Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) is the sister of the murdered boy, she has a specific character, not everybody will like her. She's a little bit superior and very daring. Next person is Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) and she is quite bright, serious and sensitive. Third character is Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes), she likes risk and that's why she's usually in trouble, but she's also disposing of them really quickly. Another hero in this story is Archie Andrews  (K.J Apa), he's a brave young man, at the beginning he loves music, but by the time he forgets about it. Next is Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) he's rather an artistic soul, quite sensitive, but also intelligent. The last person is Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray) and she has her own girls-band, she's nice and helpful.

This part of the series is the best for me, I've had a great time watching it. The idea is very interesting and well created. I can recommend it for you if you're looking for something light and in teen-drama style. I hope you liked this post, bye for now!

Dogs of Berlin(s01) - review

Hi everyone! In today's post I want to present to you another German production  - Dogs of Berlin. It's a brilliant criminal story, the main threads are about the murder of the famous footballer and cases of the Berlin 'underworld'; gangs, clans and gambling. This series is also about topics like racism, homophobia and a neo-nazism grouping. It has only one season so far.

Man on the left is Kurt Grimmer (Felix Kramer), he's a cop who tries to solve the murder case, but he also has to face his own problems, which are connected to gambling gangs. He's really bright, but stubborn and sly. He has a talent for getting into trouble. At some point, he meets another cop - Erol Birkan (Fahri Yardim) and at the beginning, they don't really like each other, but by the time, they learnt how to work together. Erol is calmer than Kurt, but he also has his own problems like  relationship with his loved ones. He's quite curious and he doesn't trust many people.

I highly  recommend this series to every fan of crime stories, but it takes many other, important topics as well. It has inimitable atmosphere and characters, which are very different from each other.
I hope you liked this post, bye!

Mindhunter (s01) - review

Hi! Series which I have for you this time is Mindhunter. It's a Netflix Originals production based on Mark Olshaker's book, it takes place in the late '70s about a couple of FBI agents who are working together to develop methods for prosecuting serial killers and analyzing the causes of their crimes. The main character is meeting and having conversations with the most awful murderers in America's history, like Edmund Kemper or Jerry Brudos. So far it has one season, but the second should come soon!

Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) is the most relevant person to this story. He's mainly meeting with the murderers and 'solving their minds'. He's very intelligent, but also engaging, he creates the whole atmosphere in the series. I think everyone loves this guy!

This series really deserves to have more popularity, because of a great realization, atmosphere and idea. I'm waiting impatiently for the second season and I think that every fan of crime fiction should watch it.

I hope you liked this post, bye!

American Crime Story (s02) - review

Hello! Today I'm going to show you the second season of the series that I've already decribed here and it's full title is American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace. As the first season - this one is based on facts and tells the story of tragic Versace's murder by Andrew Cunanan. It's an anthology, so you don't have to watch previous season! If you are interested about this case, you can read something about if before watching.

Actor who played Andrew Cunanan (Darren Criss, he's also a great singer LINK) did a really good job. We can see that Andrew in series is as cold-blooded and insane as real Andrew (at least as he was described by people who knew him). Darren created a very creepy murderer character, but also really charming and I'm amazed how he did it.

Whole story is incredibly well made, I love the atmosphere in it, the level of acting is also high. Personally, I got into the swing of it and if you're a fan of criminal stories based on facts - this series is something for you!

Bye for now!
