'Rent'

‘Rent’ is a rock opera by Jonathan Larson (music, libretto) based on Gicomo Puccini’s ‘La Bohème’.
It’s a story about year of young artists' life in age of AIDS.
It’s one of prime creation about narcotism, homosexuality and transsexualism.
It was premiered on 25th January 1996 in New York Theatre Workshop – this date is the date of Jonathan Larson’s death too.
The performance is exhibit in 37 more countries! Except English language version there were created 22 different language versions.
In Poland we can see this in Szczecin, Warsaw, Chorzów and Gdańsk.

We can see film based on this musical with the same title, music and words.

‘Les Misérables’

Hi!
'Les Misérables’ is a french musical based on Wiktor Hugo’s novel which has the same title. Music was composed by Claude-Michel Schönberg and libretto by Alain Boublil and Herbert Kretzmer and direction by John Caird. It was premiered on September 1980 in Paris.
It’s a toucher story about love, loss, devolution, friendship, fight, disappointment and spiritual transformation. It was happening in XIX century in France. In between times there was an armed rebellion.
You can see it in Paris, London, Warsaw, Gdynia, Broadway and Youtube.
I really recommend this novel – it’s amazing!
The oldest film adaptation is from 1909 (!) and the newest from 2012.

'Tanz der Vampire'

Hi
“Tanz der Vampire” is Viennese, cult musical based on Roman Polański’ film ‘Nieustraszeni pogromcy wampirów’ (1967). Words was written by Michael Kunze and music composed by Jim Steinman. It premiered on 4th October 1997.
The story happen hundred years ago. Two pathfinders – Abronisus and Alfred – became to Transylvania to find and kill vampires whose live in  mysterious castle. When they can’t find anything because of snowstorm, the go to village where they meet Chagal and Rebeka. Was happen later? You have to seen yourself.
You can see this in Vienna, Tallinn, Stuttgart, New York, Hamburg, Warsaw, Tokyo, Berlin, Budapest and more different places…

'Jesus Christ Superstar'

Hi!
Today I’m going to write about a controversial musical – ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’.  It became one of the greatest achievements in the history of musical theater. It’s legendary rock opera from England by Andrew Lloyd Webber (music) and Tim Rice (libretto). It was premiered on 12 October 1971.
It’s a story of latest week of Jesus’ life from the perspective his supporter and opponents. On the basis of the musical they were 2 films:
- by Norman Jewison (1972)
- by Gale Edwards (2000)
In Poland we can see this performance in Gdynia, Chorzów, Łódź and Warsaw.

' The Lion King'

Hi!

Everyone knows ‘The Lion King’, but is not just Disney animated film. It’s a musical with music by Elton John and libretto by Tom Rice and director was Julie Taymor. It debuted on 31st July 1997 on Minneapolis (USA). This show is share for two act: first – Simba’s childhood  and second – his adulthood and fight for throne of lion’s kingdom.  
If someone don’t seen this (I don’t know how) the story is about young lion – Simba – and his friends and family. When Simba was young, his father and king of their kingdom died. Simbas uncle accused Simba and advised  him run away. What happened after? You have to see film or musical ;).

' Wicked: The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz '

' Wicked: The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz ' - it is musical by American composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz based on the novel by Winnie Holzman.
It premiered on 28th May 2003 in Curran Theatre in San Francisco. 
 A story is told from the perspective of the witches of the Land of Oz.
It’s a funny story about hatred, friedship, love, magic, acceptance and commitment.
We can see many films about this story.

'NOTRE DAME DE PARIS'

Hello!

Today I’m going to write about my favourite musical – ‘Notre Dame de Paris’.
It premiered on 16th September 1998 in Paris. It is based on the novel by Victor Hugo ‘Notre-Dame de Paris’. Words was written by Luc Plamondon, music composed by Richard Cocciante.
Performance was show in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Quebec, England, USA, and last and this year in Poland.
It is the story about love, distress, lust, intolerance. It was happen in medieval Paris. Narrator is poet – Gringoire. What happened in this story? You have to seen yourself! J You can find it on Youtube. Down bellow I set link into first song ;)

Hello everyone!

I’m Wiktoria, I’m 15. I’m from Poland and I live in Szczecin with my mom, brothers (older – Michał and younger – Jan) and my grandma. I have two pets: cat and dog. I’m irritating, sociable, confident girl, and if someone don’t like my – it’s not my problem J.I’m short, I have blond, curly hair and blue eyes. In school I‘m good at polish , I don’t like math. My favourite music is from Accantus Studio – they tape music from films, musicals and animated films. I love theatre, music and books, in future I want  to be actress. I’m going to write about musicals.
