Polish Navy Part 2

Hi everybody !
Today we are going to continue our post about Polish navy. So let's get it started !

"Orp Garland":

In the year 1941 Britain gave destroyer named "Garland" to Polish navy.It was class G destroyer. For a long time it wasn't as famous ship as the other Polish ships. On the 17th may 1942 "Garland" and "Volounteer"  were escorting a transport ship to Reykjavík. On the 24th may they arrived at their destination and they joined convoy PQ16. "Garland" had the bigest kill count but it was dameged so hardly that it had to stay for a year in one of the russian ports to make necessary repairs. After comming back to britain it had to take a big renovation. To 1944 it was escorting convoys through the atlantic and sunk 2 u-boats. It's Last patrol took place on 5th may 1945. After that it joined "Deadlight" operation. It was just sinking u-boats after war. During the service in Polish navy it traveled 217 000 seamiles. It took it's part in 84 operations , 87 ocean  escort missions and 35 sea escort missions. The second ship from british navy was "ORP Piorun". It was very famous because it found "Bismarck". On the 11 February 1941 it hit the rocks . Damage was minor. On the 25 February 1941 it went to the open sea to seek "Gneisnau" and "Scharnhorst". In the night 13-14 march 1941 during german bombing two incenidary bomb's have hit "Piorun" but they were removed before they exploded. On 22 may 1941 it joined convoy WS8B , but it was removed from there after few days , and command gave it orders to join and escort "Rodney" and "King George V" that were seeking for "Bismarck". 4 hours after reciving orders commander Vian recived report from Pby Catalina with "Bismarcks" position in it.Vian had to chose between chasing "Bismarck" in the night and risking that the other ships will get a nice tiny torpedo from u-boats or escorting "King George V" and "Rodney" and have a very big chance that "Bismarck" will get away. On 22:37 26 may they finally found "Bismarck".On 22:50 cmdr. Lieutenant Puławski ordered: "Trzy salwy na cześć Polski !" which  means "Three volleys for the glory of Poland!".  It fought "Bismarck" for an hour and the distance between them was about 7km so "Bismarck" paniced and started to use his main 380mm canons to sink "Piorun".Acording to observators , the second volley have actually hit "Bismarck". On 23:45 "Piorun" ordered to use torpedoes against german batlleship so other 4 brithsh destroyers started torpedo attacks. For another hour Bismarck was focusing fire on "Piorun"but he didn't hit it. On 0:30 and found another radar contact. It was just radar issue. To 5am they were seeking for Bismarck and "Piorun" had to head back to the port because it was running out of fuel. At 7am "Piorun" went back to the port and at 8:43am "Rodney" and "King George" found "Bismarck" again and at 10:35 "Bismarck" has sunk.On 6.06.1944 it took it's part in the biggest batlle between Britain and Geramny on the open sea.Germans had 5 ships and Britain had 8. Two of them were Polish ("ORP Błyskawica" and "ORP Piorun"). Of course Britain won .To the end of the war "Piorun was escorting convoys through atlatntic and it just sunk an u-boat and shot down few planes. So nothing special.
