World's biggest Battleship from WW2 Japan

Hi everybody !

Today you are going to learn about Japan (Just like in Oliwia's posts . Maybe not exeactly but JAPAN !!!!!). Today's topic is of course the heaviest of ships ever created (Well , now only the american Aircraftcarrier "Nimitz" is heavier , but you see .... AMERICAN , they always have the biggest guns , ships , aircrafts , tanks etc.) . Of course it's "Yamato". Here's the photo of it :
\

The history of this beauty:
Japanese high command wanted  unsinkable batlleships (Yup , there were 3 of them) , because Japan wanted to join the war , but they were afraid of US' aircraftcarriers and they wanted to sink them as fast as they could (ekhem Pearl Harbour ehkem). But later they were made to be more Anti-Aircraft(AA) fire station and sometimes a part of Japanese propaganda. Americans were scared , and when they heard the word "Yamato", they wanted to send all their forces to destroy it. Yamato wasn't used much on the battle , only in 3 operations , almost all the time of it's being it was standing in the port. It's first operation was on Midway , and the whole operation's point  was just to capture a new atoll(Midway). It was used as the flag ship .The operation on Philippines islands was the second chapter in it's battle history. It was a succesfull for americans operation, to regain control of the Philippines islands. Yamato , alomost wasn't in the battle , but it's twin "Musashi" has been sunk during the battle (Same way as "Yamato"). And the last operation called "Ten-go" took place on 7.04.1945. It  was just a desperate (stupid) try to recover Okinava without any chances to succeed. "Yamato" was hit by 13 torpedos i 8 bombs that weighed over a ton. It was taking water , but then the ammo magazine was destroyed and it expolded (Normal stuff for such big ships). And it's the end of this sad story about nukes , Binladen , Russia  and sushi (Musashi !!).

Satan's chariot

Hi every body !

Today I'm going to tell you about something much different from my last 3 posts.
Today you're gonna learn about a heavy asslaut chopper used in Poland, called Satan's chariot ( it's also known as "Hind" in the NATO). If you like military equipment or just vehicles you know what I'm talking about. It's the Mi24 asslaut chopper. Here is  a photo of it:

History:
In the time of the vietnam war , american technology was under observation of some countries. Of course Russia is one of these. Americans were using the  UH-1 (Huey) equiped with rockets and lmg's. Russians were trying to adjust their Mi2 , Mi4 and Mi8 to be assault choppers. But it wasn't a good idea. In early 60's Mil's construction office started to develop a asslaut chopper , that is made to be an asslaut chopper , not a transport or recon helicopter made into a flying , not armored piece of metal.
New chopper for Russian army had to:
-Have good effectivnes against tanks
-Fly above 25 meters in hot air
-It had to work without ground personel
-Maximum speed had to be above 315km/h
In 1968 Mil's office gave name to it's project and of course it was Mi24. In 1969 russians made a full sized model. 19 September 1969 a test fly took place and it was piloted by Herman Ałfiorow. In 1970 serial production started. More than 3000 vehicles left factory. It's on use of the Polish army to this day.

Modifications:
-W24 : Prototype with TW2-117 engines
-A10 : Machines modified to beat speed records
-Mi24A: Has better engines named TW3-177A , better cocpit ,
-Mi24U: Training version of Mi24A
Mi24B: Mi24A with new weaponary. A 12 lmg , were changed into Jak 12.7 multibarell lmg.

Technical Stuff:
Year of serial production start : 1970
Maximum speed: 335km/h
Lenght:  21.35meters
Height:3.97 meters
Diameter of rotor: 17.3 meters
Weight: 8340 kilograms

And as always , clip with equipment in use :
And some bad quality video from Syria:
That;s all for today

See you next time !
