Korean Hallyu
The Korean Hallyu... what is it?
Hallyu is no longer just popular Korean culture. “Hallyu”, which is a commonly used term meaning “Korean cultural wave”, was originated by journalists who were surprised at the speed of the fast-growing popularity of Korean entertainment and culture. Hallyu includes K-pop, TV dramas, movies, and lifestyle with Korea’s high technology and also means the growing aspiration of people to know more about Korean culture worldwide.
Today, the popularity of Hallyu is everywhere and is mainly led by TV dramas and K-pop. Korean dramas were really popular among Asian countries, but now people from the whole world watch them. We can see Korean actors not only in Asian movies. K-pop stars are also one of the biggest reasons of Hallyu.
Nowadays many Korean culture buffs are starting to learn hangul, the Korean language. Hallyu continues to expand its fan base, going beyond Asia to capture the hearts of people all over the world.
It will go beyond movies, dramas, and pop music to art, history, and in-depth cultural exchanges. A richer and fuller Hallyu is coming your way.
In my next post I want to focus on Korean music because it is a well known thing.
See you soon!
